IVORY SCOTT RELEASES NEW SINGLE “PRICE” FEAT. JACKBOY
CASH RULES EVERYTHING BUT THE HEART
PRODUCED BY GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING HITMAKER DRUMMA BOY
(NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 16, 2026) Singer-songwriter and producer Ivory Scott returns with his new single “PRICE,” featuring Jackboy, now available. Best known for songs he wrote for Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, and Madonna, Ivory explores the complexities of modern relationships and what happens when money and success make real love harder to find.
Produced by Grammy Award-winning hitmaker Drumma Boy, whose catalog includes Young Jeezy’s “Put On” and Waka Flocka Flame’s “No Hands,” “PRICE” pairs Ivory’s melodic R&B approach with Southern hip-hop sensibilities. Anchored by the refrain “Everything got a price, so it’s hard to fall in love,” the record explores the blurred line between genuine affection and material expectations. Ivory balances confidence with vulnerability as he reflects on temptation, mistrust, and the desire for a relationship built on something deeper than financial security. His plea, “I need somebody I can call on / Not just somebody I can ball on,” captures the song’s heart: success can buy almost anything except emotional security.
Jackboy brings a complementary perspective, reflecting on heartbreak and the cost of rushing into love. The Haitian-born, Pompano Beach-raised rapper delivers a candid verse about giving everything to a relationship and still coming up short, then closes with a firm boundary: “Before I let you play me girl, I’d rather be alone.” The collaboration follows his August album I Can’t Do No Wrong, released through his 1804 Records imprint in partnership with EMPIRE.
For Ivory, “PRICE” is the latest step in a career built on perseverance. Raised in Chicago, the self-taught pianist and guitarist spent nine months living in his car while pursuing music, a sacrifice that paid off with songwriting credits on Beyoncé’s “THIQUE,” Ed Sheeran and Fireboy DML’s “Peru,” Lil Durk’s “Golden Child,” and Yung Bleu’s “Baddest” featuring Chris Brown and 2 Chainz, which earned him a 2023 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Award.
Beyond his work behind-the-scenes, Ivory has steadily built his own identity as a recording artist. He executive-produced his Hitmaka EP Before Ebony, which sent “Real” to #1 Most Added at Urban Radio, and he was selected for the SiriusXM and Pandora Artist Accelerator program. His debut album, MUD (Music U Desire), followed, spanning 14 tracks and featuring 2 Chainz, Yung Bleu, Kevin Gates, Tink, and Queen Naija.
