NEW YORK, NY – August 25, 2022 – Multi-talented songsmith, record producer, filmmaker, writer, advocate, and oneman tour de force Mobley has released his brand-new single and video “worstway.” PRESS HERE to watch the official video, HERE to stream and HERE to read Afropunk’s “first look” piece. “worstway” joins previously released singles “themesong” and “stay volk” from his forthcoming EP, Cry Havoc!, out September 23 via Last Gang Records. PRESS HERE to pre-order the collection of songs that are as captivating as they are catchy and serve as a thrilling introduction to a new sonic and narrative world created by the innovative artist.

The “worstway” video takes place inside the mind of Jacob Creedmoor, the protagonist of the “themesong” and “stay volk” videos and the figure at the center of the story of Mobley’s forthcoming Cry Havoc! EP. “The video sees time and memory collapse on themselves as Jacob tries desperately to piece together an important part of his past,” said Mobley. ‘‘worstway’ is the only love song on the record and the video explores Jacob’s devotion to his partner against the backdrop of his growing suspicions that she’s hidden something from him.”

This EP is the latest project in a career that has already spanned multiple artistic mediums. Recently, Mobley composed the theme music for Webby and Anthem Award-winning SiriusXM & Smithsonian podcast All Music Is Black Music, hosted by Selema Masekela and featuring guests Kelly Rowland, Ne-Yo, St. Vincent, and many more. Earlier this summer, Mobley performed his original score at the first-ever live taping of the podcast at The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Prior to that, Mobley’s 2021 release Young & Dying in the Occident Supreme made waves around the world with  James Crow,” a critically acclaimed pop-rock song with a political conscience.

Mobley has also played dozens of festivals including ACL, Lollapalooza, Hangout, SXSW, Noise Pop, and Float Fest; opened for The Arkells, Cold War Kids, Phantogram, James Blake, Bishop Briggs, WAVVES, ARIZONA, Dermot Kennedy, Sylvan Esso, and Matt & Kim; racked up millions of streams on DSPs and landed sync placements on HBO, FOX, NBC, ESPN, CW, and more. He’s seen airplay on Alt Nation, KROQ, KUTX, ACL Radio and KEXP, and has received praise from Billboard, Noisey, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Consequence of Sound, American Songwriter and more.

Known as a charismatic frontman with kinetic live shows, Mobley will join The Front Bottoms and The Joy Formidable on tour this fall. The series of dates kicks off September 14 in New York, and fans can catch his mesmerizing one-man-show in Denver, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Baltimore and more through late October.
