November 9, 2022- Rapper Token releases a new track and video, “Toy Story,” today via Never Too Different. The video was directed by Ben Proulx & Token, and features Token looking very much like the character Sid from the film Toy Story. The video recreates scenes from the movie in highly specific detail, including Token’s character’s hair and braces, the toy figures, props and interiors.  Token says, “Fans always used to say I looked like the Sid character from Toy Story so we thought it’d be funny to do a music video based on him and actually recreate scenes from the movie.”

“Toy Story” is the follow-up to Token’s last album, Pink is Better, which was released in early 2022 and featured Benny the Butcher, Rico Nasty, JID and more.   About the track, Token says, “[Producer] Jon Glass sent me the beat and it woke up something new in me.  He produced a lot of my older stuff, and something about it made me hungry and energetic, like I was just starting out again. You can really hear that passion in this one.”

Additionally, he has announced a headlining, North American tour, which will kick off on January 24, 2023, in Toronto and wraps in Phoenix, AZ on March 26th. Marco Plus, Ben Reilly and Nana are support acts for the tour.  See full dates below.

Through a prolific, albeit quiet grind, Token has morphed into an outlier in hip-hop. Powered by razor-sharp wordplay, head-spinning verbal acrobatics, and off-kilter hooks, the Massachusetts-born rapper evolves at a dizzying pace. He has amasssed hundreds of millions of YouTube views and streams independently and received acclaim from XXLComplexNo Jumper, Lyrical Lemonade and more.  Token’s 2022 releases have reached over 50M streams; he has accumulated over 215M streams to date.  He has over 1.4 million followers on TikTok and 1 million followers on YouTube.
