Outlaw Country singer/songwriter Ward Davis Releases New Single, “Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me Right Now”

(October 3, 2025) (Nashville, TN) – Acclaimed country singer-songwriter Ward Davis releases his new single, “Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me Right Now,” today. A soulful, mid-tempo barroom confessional, the track showcases Davis’s signature grit, raw emotion, and unapologetic honesty, cementing his place as one of country music’s most authentic voices. Ward will release a new studio album in early 2026.

The single follows Ward’s release of The Bordello Sessions, an intimate acoustic collection of fan favorites recorded at Blue Heaven in Key West, FL, a former haunt of Ernest Hemingway.

Davis’ critically acclaimed 2015 debut album, 15 Years in a 10 Year Town, featured collaborations with Willie Nelson and Jamey Johnson on “Old Wore Out Cowboys.” The record also included “Unfair Weather Friend,” later recorded by Nelson and Merle Haggard for their #1 Billboard album Django and Jimmie. Haggard connected so deeply with the song that he requested it be played at his funeral the following year.

In addition to his solo work, Davis has become a sought-after songwriter, co-writing with longtime collaborator Cody Jinks on tracks like the Top 5 Billboard hit “I’m Not The Devil,” and placing songs on hit television series, including Yellowstone and Landman.

With “Wouldn’t Want To Be Me Right Now,” Davis delivers another unforgettable entry in a career built on truth-telling and timeless storytelling.
